Sir Antony Gormley (born 1950) is renowned for his sculptures and installations including Angel of the North 1998 and Event Horizon 2007 – 2015. 

‘Another Time’ was installed on Fulsam Rock near the gallery in 2017. The solitary figure becomes visible three hours before low tide.

Sited in Margate, beside Turner Contemporary, it is one of a series of one hundred, solid cast-iron figures by Antony Gormley that explore the experience of being human. 

Made from iron the sculptures are cast from the artist’s own body. The figures in this series are identical to Another Place 2007 permanently sited on Crosby Beach in Liverpool.
