The third Ashmolean NOW exhibition presents the work of Bettina von Zwehl, a London-based artist renowned for exploring curiosity and wonder in her practice. Inspired by the Ashmolean’s 17th-century founding collections during her 2022–23 residency in Oxford, von Zwehl has created a modern ‘Wunderkammer’.

This photographic installation combines portraiture, silhouetted fragments, still-life elements, and natural history specimens, blending monumental and miniature forms. Her work reimagines the connections between art, science, and history, inviting visitors to see the Ashmolean’s legacy through a fresh, innovative lens.
