Indonesian artist Citra Sasmita presents her first solo UK exhibition at The Curve, Barbican Centre. Through painting, installation, embroidery, and scent, this sensory experience explores ancestral memory, ritual, and migration.

Sasmita reclaims and reinvents the traditional Indonesian Kamasan painting technique—historically practiced exclusively by men to narrate Hindu epics. By challenging gender hierarchies and reimagining mythologies, her work presents powerful women in a post-patriarchal world.
