Mickalene Thomas: All About Love is a bold and celebratory exhibition showcasing two decades of work by the internationally renowned artist Mickalene Thomas. Known for her large-scale portraits of Black women in radical repose, Thomas reclaims space in art history, blending collage, photography, and painting with rich patterns and textures. Inspired by feminist literature and personal narratives, her work transforms the Hayward Gallery into an immersive, nostalgic space, reflecting themes of identity, love, and representation.
Alongside this major exhibition, Southbank Centre is offering free events for teachers and students to engage with the artwork, explore key themes, and integrate the exhibition into learning.
