Portrait of Belfast is an an original photographic project and exhibition created by Belfast Exposed.

Produced to complement the Portrait of Humanity exhibition, and the global exhibition’s ethos of ‘…across oceans and borders, there is more that unites us than sets us apart’, Portrait of Belfast focuses on representing the people who make up the face of Belfast as it stands today.

Following an open call for images and sitters, the exhibit is a seamless blend of documentary and portraiture photography – featuring over 300 black and white photographs both shot by the gallery and submitted by members of the public.

Within the images you’ll find musicians, writers, comedians, public figures, politicians, activists, artists, teachers, social workers, carers, parents, children and more.

The resulting exhibit is a collective portrait of the personalities that make up Belfast today, a powerful reflection of the city’s past, present and future.
