Marking 100 years of Surrealism, The Traumatic Surreal explores how women artists in German-speaking countries after WWII used surrealist traditions to challenge patriarchal structures and address the trauma of historical events.

Featuring sculptures and films from 1964 to 2017, the exhibition highlights themes of confinement, transformation, and resistance, bringing together works by artists including Renate Bertlmann, Meret Oppenheim, and Pipilotti Rist.
