Join The National Gallery for an engaging evening of discussion and artistic exploration.

‘Unexpected Views’ offers a unique and captivating opportunity for art enthusiasts to join The National Gallery curators in monthly conversations with renowned artists and cultural practitioners.

These conversations are designed to infuse new vitality into Old Masters, focusing on specific pieces from the Gallery’s esteemed collection. Through these dialogues, they delve into the connection between these masterpieces, the artist’s work, and the broader canvas of contemporary social and cultural issues.

For the upcoming November edition, Alexis Teplin takes the spotlight, an artist who’s artistic journey transcends the confines of two-dimensional painting.  Encompassing performance, video, and sculpture, her art explores into historical references, labor, cultural politics, and decadence.

Experience an evening of critical, counter-intuitive, and joyful exploration that beautifully unites time and tradition.
