Zines Forever! DIY Publications and Disability Justice explores how zines have been used to share experiences of disability and disabled identity. This display showcases the power of radical self-publishing, featuring zines in all shapes and sizes—from handwritten mini-zines to tactile editions using braille and audio.
Drawing from Wellcome Collection’s growing archive of over 1300 health-themed zines, this exhibition highlights the role of zine-making in disability activism, political resistance, and community building.
Visitors are encouraged to engage with almost all of the zines on display, providing a relaxed, inclusive environment for reading and reflection. Feeling inspired? You’ll also have the opportunity to create your own zine!
