A couple admires an exhibition set against the backdrop of the serene blue sea and sky
by The Thomas-Ferdinand Gallery

NO. 11008

As part of The Year of Mexico, artist Carlos Amorales presented his installation We Will See How Everything Reverberates at the Turner Contemporary in Margate in 2015. Inspired by the iconic sculptor Alexander Calder (1898–1976), Amorales crafted three suspended mobiles adorned with cymbals – its undulations referencing the organic forms of Calder’s work. Within this exhibition space, more than 30 cymbals were suspended, converging to form a grand-scale mobile that doubled as an enormous musical instrument. Visitors were given mallets and invited to engage with the cymbals, creating a harmonious synergy of art and sound.
