He is instrumental in changing the attitude towards the use of colour photography from one of resistance to nearly universal acceptance. He inspires a younger generation of photographers.

He was one of the most important street photographers of his generation, and he helped change attitudes towards color photography by convincing people that it was just as good as black and white.
